Over the past three decades, David Boghosian has forged a reputation as an expert in municipal law, with an emphasis on municipal and police defence work. His reputation has been built on his professional experience in handling such matters (including in excess of 60 trials, 60 appeals to the Ontario Court of Appeal, appearances before the OMB and an appearance in the Supreme Court of Canada in Hill v. Hamilton-Wentworth Police, a leading case on police liability); co-authoring the leading text in the field of municipal liability; editing and regularly contributing to a national municipal risk management newsletter; and speaking at numerous conferences and seminars sponsored by municipal lawyers’ associations, municipal risk and insurance administrators’ organizations, the Ontario Bar Association and professional legal conference organizers. His client base includes numerous municipalities and their insurers, with referrals from municipal in-house counsel, municipal risk and insurance managers and insurance examiners and adjusters. He also receives referral work from colleagues and former clients in the areas of commercial litigation, wrongful dismissal, estates litigation and plaintiff’s personal injury.
