Matt Brown

Matt’s developing litigation practice focuses on the defence of public authorities. He also has significant experience with regulatory matters and complex by-law prosecutions especially the municipal regulatory response to the sharing economy. Prior to joining Boghosian + Allen, Matt defended lawyers as preferred counsel for the Lawyers’ Professional Indemnity Company.

Matt volunteers with Pro Bono Ontario providing free legal advice to self-represented litigants in Superior Court. In law school, Matt served on the executive of the student legal clinic, Downtown Legal Services, and represented low-income clients in the criminal law division. Before attending law school, Matt worked as an economist at a leading Canadian think tank and a journalist in East Africa.

Currently, Matt serves on the board of Tugende, an asset finance social enterprise he co-founded in 2010.
